Istisqa. Salat al istisqa rain is a blessing from allah bestowed upon his servants. Istisqa prayer is a means of seeking rain from allah exalted be he during times of drought.
It is recommended to observe the salat after the sun rises and has ascended up to the length of a spear. That is people are naturally disposed to ask help from the one who is able to support them. Salatul istisqa is permissible when there is a drought and sparse rainfall or the level of water in the streams and well is low or due to the river drying up etc.
